Our Story: A Shared Passion, A Unified Dream

Our journey began on the lush greens of our local golf course, where two childhood friends, Ronav Benak and Hunt Cone, discovered a shared passion for golf. This passion took us through an exhilarating journey of local, regional, state, and national golf competitions. We've experienced the thrill of victory, the lessons of defeat, and the unbreakable bond that only a shared love for a sport can forge.

Ronav Benak: During my internship at my father's medical practice, I often shared tales of my golfing adventures with the senior patients. Many of them fondly recalled their days on the green but had given up the sport due to various life circumstances. Their enduring enthusiasm for golf was palpable, inspiring me to bring the game back into their lives. Recognizing the potential benefits for both physical health and cognitive function, I collaborated with local assisted living facilities to introduce golf sessions for the residents. These rewarding interactions not only deepened my passion for golf but also influenced my aspiration to become a physician. They fueled my interest in exploring how sports can play a role in supporting conditions like ADHD and Alzheimer's disease. 

      As we progressed through the ranks of competitive golf, we also couldn’t help but notice the sidelines - filled with eager eyes of kids who watched us, dreaming of one day holding a club in their hands. We saw the potential in their eyes, but also the barriers that stood in their way - financial constraints that made golf, a sport often perceived as exclusive, inaccessible to them.

Hunt Cone: My inspiration for this charity began with my great-grandmother breaking her hip. Throughout my life, my great-grandmother was one of the strongest and most resilient people I have ever known. But after being admitted into a retirement home because of her injury something seemed to change in her. I realized that this change was caused by boredom from a lack of activities happening at her retirement home. I began to realize that many elders loose the ability to practice the activities that they are passionate about when they get admitted into retirement homes. So together with my friend, Ronav, I decided to bring a new passion into these retirement homes in the form of golf.

      As I progressed further into this journey I realized that other obstacles besides old age were preventing people from enjoying golf. For this reason, Ronav and I have decided to extend this charity to support First Tee in order to break down any barriers that might prevent kids from realizing their golf dreams.

Inspired by personal experiences with seniors and their lost love for their favorite activites, our vision extends beyond mere sport. We aim to reignite this passion in seniors, offering them not just a leisurely pastime, but an avenue for physical activity and cognitive engagement. Besides that we work to raise money for First Tee to extend our mission to underprivileged kids.

      At Fairways for All, we envision a world where the joys and benefits of golf are within everyone's reach. We dream of a day when a child's economic background does not hinder their ability to pursue their passion for golf and where every senior has the opportunity to swing a club for health and happiness.

      Through Fairways for All, we are committed to turning this vision into a reality. By breaking down barriers, providing resources, and nurturing talent, we aim to bring the game of golf to new audiences. We are driven by the belief that with the right support, every aspiring golfer can reach their potential.
